Community & Social Value

Building More Than Structures — Strengthening Communities

If your organisation, school, charity, or community group would like to explore opportunities with Woodland, we would love to hear from you.

BEYOND THE BUILDING

At Woodland, we believe that every project is an opportunity to create a positive and lasting impact. As a family-run business with deep local roots, we pride ourselves not only on the quality of the environments we build, but also on the strength of the relationships we cultivate within the communities we serve.

Our commitment to social value is firmly embedded in the way we work. Through local partnerships, charitable involvement, responsible procurement, and investment in people, we aim to ensure that our growth directly benefits those around us — today and long into the future.

Our Approach

Community Impact

Supporting Local People and Local Businesses

We know that strong communities start with strong local economies. That’s why we consistently prioritise working with local subcontractors, specialist trades, and suppliers.

By doing so, we:

  • Reinforce the financial resilience of local businesses

  • Create employment and training opportunities within the community

  • Reduce carbon emissions by minimising travel and transport

  • Ensure that our growth continues to support the livelihood of those closest to us

As part of our 2025 initiative, we are further reviewing and strengthening our local supply chain to help align it with Woodland’s commitment to sustainable growth.

what we’ve done

  • Woodland is proud to actively support community sports, recognising the role they play in promoting teamwork, wellbeing, and opportunity for young people.

We currently sponsor and partner with:

    • Feltham Rugby Club

    • Harriers Football Team

Our support helps fund facilities, training programmes, and grassroots development, ensuring that local families and young athletes have access to high-quality sporting environments.

  • Working Together for Positive Change

One of our most meaningful partnerships is with Skylarks, a charity supporting children with disabilities and their families in Hounslow.
    Our involvement includes:

    • The construction and delivery of a purpose-built facility for Skylarks

    • Ongoing fundraising initiatives led by Woodland staff

    • Participation in sponsored events, including skydives and a 26-mile charity walk across the Surrey Hills

This partnership reflects our belief that construction can — and should — be a force for social improvement.

  • Community value and environmental responsibility go hand-in-hand. Alongside our social initiatives, Woodland is committed to:

    • Reducing carbon emissions across all operations

    • Supporting local environmental projects

    • Promoting sustainable materials and construction methods

    • Ensuring minimal disruption to local communities during all project phases

We are determined to build responsibly, respectfully, and with long-term community benefit in mind.

  • A strong construction sector depends on skilled, motivated people. Woodland is committed to:

    • Providing apprenticeships and entry-level opportunities

    • Supporting career progression for young people and local residents

    • Offering on-site training and mentorship

    • Helping develop the next generation of skilled trades and construction professionals

Our goal is to leave a legacy not just through the buildings we create, but through the careers we help launch.
